Benevo purchased 53,000 sqm of land, a former textile factory in 2008.
With its excellent location and street frontage, including a 273 meter frontage on Bucurestii Noi Boulevard – one of Bucharest’s major access and egress road – Victoria City Lifestyle Retail Center will draw shoppers from all parts of Bucharest. The recently opened Jiului metro station will deliver passengers directly to the site ensuring that retailers and customers alike will be extremely well served by this exceptional mode of public transportation on site.
The project is situated in District 1, which comprises the most affluent population of Bucharest. Along with the old high class neighborhoods through the development of new upper middle and high class villa neighborhoods (Pipera, Baneasa but also Sisesti, Straulesti and Mogosoaia).
The development of modern shopping centers in Bucharest has so far concentrated on the southern half of the city. Of the 15 retail schemes on the market today only one modern retail center serves the Northern part of Bucharest - Baneasa Shopping City. Although a number of schemes have been announced for the North of Bucharest before the onset of the crisis, none of them have yet materialized. Therefore, Victoria City Lifestyle Retail Center has a unique opportunity to fill a significant gap in the market, and serve a catchment area that is currently undersupplied in terms of modern retail space.
Demolition works are completed and grand opening is scheduled for 2016.
An office building comprising a GLA of 16,000 sqm of A class office space, located adjacent to the shopping center is also planned as a second phase.
